We can remove stains that household cleaners just cannot. These include –

1. Hot Water Extraction

Hot water extraction is considered the safest and most effective way to clean carpet fibres. It bathes the carpet with hot water and cleaning solution, flushes away dirt, and removes stains. It also sanitizes the carpet, removing harmful germs. This method is recommended by carpet manufacturers and more and more required for warranty purposes.

In this method, professional rug technicians use equipment to inject hot water under pressure directly into your stained carpet. This dismantles the stains and loosens soil particles before a suction machine extracts 95% of the moisture along with all the dirt. This process is eco-friendly and kid and pet friendly.

Many people mistakenly call this technique steam cleaning but that’s not what it actually is. To be called steam cleaning, the water would have to be boiling hot and in gas form. There is usually some visible steam released during this cleaning but the actual rinsing of the fibres is done with hot water only.

2. Steam Cleaning

Steam cleaning is an in-depth disinfecting procedure that beautifies carpets. It removes carpet discoloration caused by brighteners and extends the lifespan of your carpet. It also eliminates the pile distortion present in traditional shampoo methods. The process also avoids using harsh detergents that cause carpet damage or even chemical poisoning to humans and animals.

The high temperature of steam neutralises the adhesive bond of dirt and grease that is held by carpet fibres. This loosens the dirt and allows standard vacuum cleaners to suck it up.

The cleaning method also helps kill harmful microbes such as germs, fungi, mildew, and odour-causing bacteria. The short surface cleanings of regular carpet and upholstery washing do little to fight such odour-causing microbes, so it is important to have your carpet regularly cleaned by professionals. This will prevent odours and mould growth and keep your family healthy. It will also help maintain the hygienic conditions of your home. This is because the odour-causing microbes are killed and their dead bodies sucked up by the steam cleaner.

3. Dry Cleaning

This process cleans your carpet with water and detergent without any pre-spray or agitation. It can be used to remove stains but it leaves detergent residue in the fibres which promotes rapid re-soiling. It is also not recommended for heavy soiled carpet.

Drymaster Carpet cleaning services use a more advanced machine that agitates the carpet fibres and releases dirt from them. It then encapsulates the dirt in a biodegradable detergent. After the encapsulation the carpet is vacuumed and then raked to reset the pile.

The process uses less than half the amount of water that conventional cleaners do so your carpets can be cleaned in a shorter time. It also removes more dirt from your carpet than other cleaners. In addition, it is able to remove odours that other cleaners cannot. It is ideal for removing stubborn stains and is a great option for end of lease cleaning. It will leave your carpets smelling fresh and new.

4. Urine Removal

Urine stains and odours can be very difficult to remove from carpets. In severe cases the carpet and underlay may need to be lifted and treatments applied from underneath.

For urine stains that are not yet visible, use a homemade formula of 8 ounces of hydrogen peroxide mixed with 3 tablespoons of recently opened baking soda and 2-3 drops of liquid dish washing detergent. Mix well and pour into a spray bottle. Apply the solution generously to any stained areas, and allow to dry. This will etch and bleach the stain and absorb the odours.

Sometimes odour and stains appear after cleaning has been done, this is usually caused by urine salt deposits that were dormant in the carpet backing or underlay and have now been drawn to the surface during cleaning. This can normally be rectified by using an odourcide. If the odour and stains persist it may be necessary to engage a colour restoration or spot dye specialist.
